no_need_to_worry[Dawn's barely excited at all to see the gifts under the Christmas tree, and opens them sort of halfheartedly. Her old clothes from home, and another Pokeball. Given what happened last time, she's almost afraid to try with this one. She shakes it a little first, pressing her ear to the side of the ball to see if she can hear any horrible screams coming from inside.]
"Hmm... well, it seems normal enough. I bet it's Ambipom this time. There's no way the postman would actually give me Piplup back after that."
[Of course, there's only one way to find out for sure, so Dawn tosses the Pokeball up into the air to see what comes out. She is utterly speechless at the result. There, standing right in front of her for the first time in what seems like forever, is her first Pokemon and best friend in the whole world, Piplup. It takes her a moment, but then her eyes well up with tears of joy as she dives forward to give the little penguin a hug.]
"Piplup! Piplup, it's really you! Oh, I missed you so much!"
[Piplup seems confused, but is happy enough to be with Dawn, so of course she's getting big hugs back. And after some joyful romping about in the house and celebration, Dawn dries her eyes and hits the phones.]
[Unfiltered phone call]
"Guys! I got Piplup back! He's finally here! This is the best Christmas ever!"
[She doesn't even care how stupid that sounds - she's just happy to have him back.]
"Piplup, say hi to everyone!"
"Pip pip! Piplup!"
"Anyone who wants to can come over and meet him!"
